No Room at the Inn: Inn Manager’s Business Card
The modern inn is a great alternative to the roadside chain motel. Inns are usually locally owned and operated businesses and offer a level of hospitality and intimacy not available in the larger hotel. The competition between affordable inns and lodgings in many areas is high and attracting repeat business is key. The inn owner’s business card should be friendly, warm and inviting.
The inn manager’s business card should include all the pertinent information regarding the lodging. This includes reception telephone number and any other customer service lines, the e-mail address and website address for the inn and of course, the mailing address. Directions to the inn from the main highway are always a good idea and another way to make your business card more useful.
Consider using the back of the inn manager’s business card as a coupon area for guests. A seasonal rate discount upon presenting the card to the manager is a nice incentive for holding onto the card. Fold over business cards allow a coupon area to be torn away leaving the original business card intact. The fold over business card costs a few pennies more but will show that the inn although humbler than the chain motel is up to date on the latest in business branding.
An image of the outside of the inn is always great on the inn manager’s business card. If you have room or opt for a double sided card, add a few images of the inn’s interior to show potential guests how inviting your accommodations are. A professional photograph that enhances natural light and makes your inn shine is worth the money on your inn’s business card.
Distribute the inn manager’s business card with all correspondence to potential customers including passive inquiries and booking confirmations. Every piece of promotional literature for the inn should include a business card. Place magnetic versions of your inn manager’s business card in your rooms for guests to take home with them.
