Menus as Business Cards
Not many people realize this but menus at restaurants, bars, and diners serve as business cards just like the traditional business card does. Business cards are used to get a person or business’ name out to the public along with their contact information. Business people use business cards as a networking or marketing tool to help grow their business or to acquire a new job. Menus act in the same exact way even though many people don’t realize this.
When you sit down at a table or at a counter at the restaurant or diner you will notice that the menus are strategically placed at your table or on the counter where you will be sitting. This is done so that the patrons can see the menu, read the choices, and determine what they would like to eat. This is also done for the purpose of marketing and networking. The customer will read the location, phone number, website and history of the establishment; which will all be on the menu somewhere.
Other menus used as business cards include the ones that are left on your dashboard at a sporting event, that are placed in your mailbox at home, that are taped to your pizza box that is delivered to your home and the ones that you pickup when ordering take out from your favorite eatery. These menus make it all over town; to your house, your neighbor’s house, to your office and to your doctor’s office so people can order food without fumbling for menus.
