Charity Begins With You: Philanthropist’s Business Card
There are a number of wonderful people in the world who spend their time raising money for charitable causes. Whether for their own foundation or organization or to support a cause they have a personal connection with fundraisers require a professional business card to help them network, raise funds and send thank yous.
A fundraiser’s business card should provide as much contact information as humanly possible. If you want people to give you money, you should make yourself as available as possible. This includes home and office numbers, personal and business e-mail addresses, cell phone numbers, web site links, RSS feed links, charity home pages and any other information that will help people locate you and donate their time and money.
Choose a serious background design and color scheme for the philanthropist’s business card. You want people to realize that you are serious about raising money and legitimate in your task. Muted designs and simple colors work best. If you have a corporate logo or accreditation that helps sell your charity to potential donors, be sure to include it in your design.
Clarity and commitment should be the focus of the charity worker’s business card. Choose type styles that work well in slightly larger fonts such as a 12 or 13 point and offer an eye catching look without being too flashy. Write out the text of your business card in a word processing program and experiment with the font before uploading to the printer’s website.
Distribute the fundraiser’s business card at networking events, charity dinners and to anyone that shows an interest in your organization’s mission. Always include a business card with follow up letters, thank you cards and invitations to events.
