A lot of people carry business cards but not a lot of business people think too much about business card placement. Business cards are a form of advertising and can increase your branded presence significantly. Learning the many places where business cards can be displayed, arranged and set for maximum exposure is a must for any savvy business person.

Libraries, hospitals, hotels, train stations and bus stops are all great places to leave a pile of your business cards. People pass through these places frequently for short periods making them an ideal place for branding a business. Place business cards at reception desks or in the lobby area to maximize exposure.

Areas where people congregate for leisure activities or entertainment are another great place for business cards. Social clubs, tennis courts, community centers and recreational places deserve your attention. Event centers and concert halls offer the same type of advertising opportunities. Always check with the business or center’s owner before displaying your business cards. You don’t want them to end up in the garbage can.

Smaller communities have notice boards and display areas all over town. Usually, these boards are filled with posters for yard sales, grass cutting services, social groups and couches for sale. For instance if you offer wedding planning, make sure to get a pile of your business cards at the local photographers and caterer’s waiting rooms.

By placing business cards at various locations around your town or business area doesn’t mean you expect people to pick them up and call you. It’s more about reinforcement of branding. Once people see a few of your cards displayed in prominent places, they will soon subconsciously look for your presence (in the form of your business card) every time they see a notice board, a reception desk or a business card display. Businesses can expand or die based on the power of their branded message. Make sure your business card helps your business grow.
